WEEK 6 (20/11/23 - 26/11/23)
We did a little brainstorm of what we were planning to do for the bake sale. Luna designed flyers, Anika got permissions from the teachers to run the bake sale and Emmeline and Divi planned what we needed to get for the bake sale. We also designed team shirts, but didn't end up buying them because they were like a million pounds (£160).
WEEK 7 (27/11/23 - 03/12/23)
We had the bake sale the morning of the robotics session!! It went really well, but it was insanely chaotic in trying to keep up with all the customers. We tried to keep books of the purchases but gave up around 5 minutes in. There were basically no leftovers apart from just enough hot chocolate for all of us. We made £87.25 in total (and got a £20 donation from Emmeline's parents - shoutout to the Whittens)! Divi took the cash with her in a disposable cup and walked around the whole day with a suspicious amount of cash on her person. The afternoon we had our regular session in which we researched the IR sensing code and tested it on minibits.
WEEK 8 (08/01/24 - 14/01/24)
WE'RE IN 2024 🎉🎉🎉!!! Over the holidays, we all forgot about Pi Wars (and how to code). This week was our first week back together and we started to DRIVE bob! Emmeline is our designated driver since she's the only one that doesn't drink (I'm kidding, she's actually just the only one who plays video games). While she did that, Divi also set up our lovely wix website because we weren't allowed to use bloggr, she tried to use the ai function to make it aesthetic and failed miserably. Luna and Anika worked on a servo motor for the zombie apocalypse challenge (this effort did unfortunately go to waste).
WEEK 9 (15/01/24 - 21/01/24)
Unfortunately, Divi and Luna had Director's forum that night (mini plays directed and performed by Year 9s) and the dry run and changing time coincided with Pi Wars, so they couldn't be here. Divi left Anika and Emmeline with instructions to take some robot measurements and make an illustrator file to create the shapes for laser cutting to make the shell casing. Once changed, Divi received a confusing call from Anika and sprinted into the CS classroom in a Victorian ballgown (no, I was not wearing a corset. yes, I was wearing three petticoats; Luna was wearing a cool waistcoat) earning strange looks from other Pi Wars teams. Once the measurements were all finished and an illustrator template was completed, Anika and Emmeline took a well deserved break and left early.
WEEK 10 (22/01/24 - 28/01/24)
Back in normal clothes, Anika and Emmeline attached the camera and rod holder (for Pi Noon) to the Pi, while Luna worked on building the actual illustrator frame. Divi spent this session working with Canva AI to design the artworks for the sides of the shell casing. We also named our controller Steve so Bob has a friend now :))
